If the foundation is good, you can certainly enjoy a little something extra. Personally, I prefer desserts with unrefined sugars. They're still sugars, of course, but it's a better choice. For example, I make a pie crust with dates—at least they still contain nutrients. If that's just as delicious, I'd rather choose that. I don't want to be too freaky about it. Being too healthy, as far as I'm concerned, can also become unhealthy.
